Growing Community Projects Along The Food Chain – Making The Links, Wednesday 25th September

This large-scale networking day has been organised by Federation of City Farms and Community Gardens in conjunction with Keep Scotland Beautiful (which manages the Climate Challenge Fund), Nourish Scotland and the Council of Ethnic Minority Voluntary Sector Organisations (CEMVO Scotland).

The event will explore how communities can be involved in all parts of local food networks from growing and selling, to eating and composting. There will also be real-life examples from community growing projects that are already involved in growing local food, including Maryhill Community Central Hall Garden.


The day will include a mix of short presentations, stalls, case studies and workshops on subjects such as Accessing Land for Community Growing. There will be maximum time for networking. In addition, help will be on hand from various organisations and funders including the Climate Challenge Fund, Trellis and Plunkett Foundation. The event aims to inspire and motivate participant, and will bring together communities and groups to share information and experiences and visualise a more sustainable future. It takes place in Maryhill Community Central Hall, Glasgow on Wednesday 25th September from 9.30am-4.30pm and costs £10 for FCFCG members and £15 for non-members.
